A vigorous, large English climbing rose, with large, heavily cupped, double blooms up to 12 cm across) that have striking deep carmine-pink centres that fade to pale blush at the petals' edges. It has a very strong, old rose perfume. It has abundant mid-green matt leaves, with new shoots sometimes taking on mahogany tints. A once-blooming variety in mid-summer, though it can produce a lighter second flush in the autumn under optimal conditions.
